Atlanta Air Conditioning Tips Save Money and Make Your System Last

Maintenance Key to Long Life and Efficiency of A/C and Heater Units

In order to keep your air conditioner equipment running without undue stress and at peak efficiency, air-conditioning and heating repairmen must do routine maintenance such as changing belts, greasing bearings and making adjustments to the equipment due to wear and tear. Usually this kind of maintenance is done in the early spring or early fall, during slower work periods at Air Conditioner Repair, but is also done when required throughout the year.

Have you changed the air filter on your air conditioner lately? The damage that could result from a system that must run longer and harder to make up for dirty ducts and coils is significant. Electricity and natural gas aren’t cheap, but filters are.

During the summer months, remove any leaves or debris from your outdoor condenser unit. Trim back bushes and trees that can restrict air flow around the unit.

DIY’er or our Air conditioner Atlanta service technicians can keep your outdoor condenser fan operating at peak efficiency by cleaning the fan blades and the coils before the hot summer hits. If you are a do-it-yourselfer, remember to turn off the power before opening the condenser unit. Remove the fan grill and the fan blades. Clean the fan blades. Then uncover the condenser coils and gently brush the dirty side. Use a water hose from inside the unit to wash the coils. Use plastic bags to protect the motor and other components. Remove any debris that has accumulated under the unit and clean the condensate line.

Our regularly scheduled service will cover things like this and much more, so ask about our preferred customer, preseason checkup for furnaces and air conditioner units.

Heat Pumps Atlanta – Heat Pump Atlanta Repair or Replace?

Heat pumps may offer the most energy efficient method of providing heating and cooling because the equipment makes use of the renewable heat resources in the very air outside your Atlanta, GA home. The air, ground and water all contain heat, even when we think their temperatures are cold. This source of heat is replenished by the sun. The heat pump. with the help of a modest amount of electricity, can “extract” and “concentrate” this heat and bring it into your home or office.

Furnace Atlanta

In the Atlanta GA market, natural gas is king. We are very blessed with a great distribution infrastructure that brings the natural gas to your home on demand. Many people call Atlanta Air Conditioning contractor to replace an aging air conditioner as a means of lowering the energy costs for Atlanta residential and commercial buildings. Often it is more cost effective and a greater energy savings to replace the furnace. That is because the new furnace systems have grown so efficient – up to 98% of the energy consumed is actually used to heat your office or home.

In decades past, the heat pump was promoted as a cost effective way to heat your home. But heat pumps have a difficult time raising the temperature in your house quickly and there have been new advances in efficiency in natural and propane gas furnaces. But supplying a quick and steady flow of heat using less energy, gas furnaces excel over heat pumps in other ways. A natural gas furnace will last twice as long as the electric heat pump. Maintenance is almost non existent compared to the heat pumps.
